as much as i love fitted, glamorous clothes on other women, i prefer a looser silhouette on myself. i think its harks back to my school days when i wore loose culottes instead of a skirt so that i could jump and climb and cartwheel to my hearts content. these frocks make me happy that the warmer weather is heading our way here in england.
the orange dress above is from offon and i can’t tell you how much i love this style, plus this model has the hairstyle that one day must be mine – gah!
everyone should have a yellow, linen, drop ruffle maxi dress and this one is the best, from not perfect linen.
caroline kaufman loves colour and textiles which means i love her. this dress would be so much fun to wear back in puerto rico! have a look at caroline’s website for design inspiration – i love the mix of photography and illustration. i wished i’d discovered her when we lived in the same small town of brooklyn!
i’ve had a long standing love affair with saori weaving. i own a beautiful kaftan made with this technique and i love the strength of the weave and the slubby texture. loop of the loom is another NYC-based design house who run the most amazing workshops – friends in new york, let me know if you attend a class!
enjoy the springy days dear readers and keep filling my instagram feed with bubbles of blossom. x jo
